IIT Roorkee alumnus Prof Bharat Bhasker appointed as new IIMA Director

Professor Bharat Bhasker has been appointed as the Director of the Indian Institute of Ahmedabad (IIMA). He is 1980 batch Alumni of IIT Roorkee in Electronics & Communications Engineering. Professor Bhasker, who currently holds the position of Professor of Information Technology and Systems at IIM Lucknow, will take charge as IIMA director on March 1, 2023.

IIT Roorkee-backed Start-up Indi Energy wins National Award 2022

IIT Roorkee start-up Indi Energy, which specializes in manufacturing Sodium-Ion batteries, has won the National Startup Awards 2022 in ‘Energy Storage’ category.
The award, presented in Delhi, recognizes and celebrates the most promising and innovative startups in India. In recognition of the achievement, the certificate of commendation was presented by honorable Sh. Piyush Goyal ji, Minister of Commerce and Industries, Government of India.

IIT Roorkee develops water-based printing ink tech, transfers it to packaging industry

IIT Roorkee researchers developed a water-based printing ink technology and transferred to the packaging industry. Researchers from IIT Roorkee and Afflatus Gravure Private Limited, Noida, created an environment-friendly technology for flexible printing. In accordance with a licencing agreement signed in front of IIT Roorkee Director Professor KK Pant, other representatives of the company, and the research team, the institute has transferred the two innovations to a reputable packaging company.
