Buriburizaemon:

Team "Buriburizaemon,"
composed of Rudransh,
Lakshya Joshi, Tejas
Sajwan, and coached by
Prof. Balasubramanian
Raman, participated in
the 48th International
Collegiate Programming
Contest (ICPC). They
secured 3rd and 4th
positions in Kanpur and
Amritapuri Regionals,
respectively. This
earned them a spot in
the ICPC Asia West
Continental Finals and
ICPC World Finals-
Kazakhstan. Their
achievement marks the
10th time a team from
IIT Roorkee has
qualified for the World
Finals, demonstrating
the institution's
consistency in
competitive programming.
Now, they prepare for
the 2024 World Finals in
Kazakhstan.

The Indo-French Seminar
on "Advances in Robust
Nonlinear Control for
Uncertain Dynamic
Systems," took place
from April 15 to 19,
2024. The Seminar was
held in partnership with
École Centrale de
Nantes, nurturing global
cooperation among
specialists from India
and France. This
gathering spotlighted
control theory, its
practical
implementations, and the
noteworthy contributions
from esteemed
institutions.

Workshop
on
"Groundwater
Resource
Assessment:
|
|
The Department of Hydrology had organized a two-day International workshop on
"Groundwater
Resource
Assessment
using
Geophysical
Tools
and
Techniques,"
which
was
scheduled
from
April
25th to
26th,
2024.
The
event
aimed to
facilitate
the
exchange
of ideas
and
discussions
on
important
topics
concerning
groundwater
resources.
In
total,
95
workshop
participants
had been
shortlisted
from
over 300
applications,
and 15
well-known
resource
persons
from
India
and
abroad
had
taken
part in
this
significant
activity.

Aditya Gupta for being
recognized as one of the
"100 Great IITians"! His
accomplishments as an
entrepreneur, designer,
TEDx speaker and author
as well as his role as
the founder/owner of
sustainable home fashion
brands like The Rug
Republic (distributed in
85 countries) and Sharda
Exports, highlight his
exceptional
contributions. He has
also summited Mt.
Everest. Being featured
in "100 Great IITians"
is quite an honor, as it
recognizes individuals
who have not only
excelled in their fields
but have also
contributed
significantly to the
betterment of the
country. It's a
testament to their
achievements and impact
on society.

ENCORE Award Ceremony, organized by the 1989 batch Alumni group of IIT Roorkee,
was held
on April
25,
2024, to
acknowledge
exceptional
achievements
of the
student.
The
awards
were
established
in 2014
by the
Eighty-Nine
Class of
Roorkee
Endowment
(ENCORE).
This
fund
appreciates
donors
and
volunteers
for
their
contributions
to the
institute.
Winners
are
chosen
through
a
rigorous
process
by IIT
Roorkee
and 1989
batch
representatives.
The
ceremony
was
attended
by Dean
of
Resources
and
Alumni
Affairs,
Chairman-SCSP
and
students.
